The Prodigy FX-4 is an understable control driver built for easy distance, smooth turn, and effortless shot shaping. It’s one of the most approachable discs in the FX lineup—fast enough to push distance, but controllable enough to actually use on tight lines.
Out of the hand, the FX-4 flips up easily, drifts right (RHBH), and carries forward with a ton of glide before finishing with a soft, controlled fade. It’s incredibly workable—perfect for hyzer flips, turnovers, and long, straight shots that don’t dump out early.
This is a true “do-it-all” fairway for a lot of players. Lower arm speeds will see straight, glidey flights, while higher arm speeds can manipulate it into turnovers, rollers, or long shaping lines.
In 500 Spectrum plastic, you’re getting a premium, slightly stiffer feel with great grip and durability, plus a touch more stability compared to baseline blends. It’ll hold that sweet spot flight longer before beating into something even more understable.
Best Uses
• Hyzer flip fairway shots
• Long turnover lines
• Straight-to-drift drives
• Tailwind distance
• Controlled rollers
Real talk:
👉 This is basically a longer, more controllable Essence/Maverick lane
👉 Lower arm speed → straight bomber with glide
👉 Higher arm speed → turnover or roller machine
If you don’t have something this workable in your fairway slot, you’re forcing lines you shouldn’t be. This is one of those discs that makes the game feel easier immediately.
