The Discraft Cigarra is what happens when a fairway driver and a distance driver get together and decide they both hate being labeled.

Designed in collaboration with Anthony Barela, the Cigarra takes the familiar feel of the Cicada and adds a little extra stability, and a whole lot of attitude. The result is a fairway driver that can absolutely rip while still maintaining the control that keeps your scorecard from filing a restraining order.

Throw it flat and watch it push forward with effortless glide before delivering a dependable finish. Give it some power and it'll reward you with long, controlled flights that seem to stay in the air forever. It is workable enough to shape lines but stable enough that it won't immediately fold under pressure the second a little wind shows up.

Best Uses:

  • Controlled fairway bombs
  • Long tunnel shots
  • Hyzer flips with dependable finish
  • Players looking to bridge the gap between fairway and distance drivers

Plastic:
Available in premium Discraft plastics, the Cigarra combines excellent grip, durability, and enough eye-catching stamps to make your wallet nervous every time a new run drops.

BDLD Real Talk:
The Cigarra sits in one of the most dangerous spots in disc golf.

Not dangerous because of the flight.

Dangerous because it's one of those discs that starts stealing shots from other discs in your bag.

Your fairway driver? Maybe the Cigarra can do that.

Your distance driver? Maybe the Cigarra can do that too.

That trusty mold you've been throwing for five years? Well... let's not make any rash decisions, but maybe give the Cigarra a few throws first.

Before long you'll find yourself standing on the tee saying: It's Cigarra time!

Bottom Line:
The Discraft Cigarra is fast, glidey, dependable, and surprisingly versatile. It throws far enough to make you question your distance drivers and controllable enough to make you question your fairway drivers.

Or as we call it at BDLD:
