The Prodigy A2 is an overstable approach disc built for absolute reliability, torque resistance, and a hard, predictable finish. This is not your finesse approach disc—this is your “don’t mess around” option.
Out of the hand, the A2 flies straight for a short push with zero turn, then hits a heavy, consistent fade. You can throw it hard—forehand or backhand—and trust that it’s not flipping, even in headwinds. It’s designed specifically for players who want to eliminate any chance of turnover on approach shots.
Compared to other Prodigy approach discs, the A2 sits on the more aggressive side of overstable, but still offers slightly more glide than the A1—giving you just enough forward push before the dump.
In 500 Spectrum plastic, you’re getting a premium, slightly stiff feel with excellent grip and durability, plus a touch more consistency and stability. It holds that beefy flight longer and looks clean doing it.
Best Uses
• Overstable approach shots
• Forehand upshots
• Headwind approaches
• Skip shots
• Utility shots and scrambles
Real talk:
👉 This is a true beefcake approach disc
👉 Lower arm speed → immediate dump, utility only
👉 Higher arm speed → short push, then hard finish
If your A5 feels too nice and your A3 still gets a little movement, this is the disc you grab when you want something that just listens and gets to the ground—fast.
