Sometimes the best line to the basket is not the obvious one. Sometimes you need to take a little Detour.

The MVP Detour in Neutron plastic is a glidey, understable midrange built for easy hyzer-flips, long turnovers, technical woods lines, and straight flights that don't require you to throw the living hell out of the disc.

With flight numbers of 5 | 5 | -2 | 1, the Detour gives newer players easy, controllable distance while giving experienced throwers a ridiculous amount of line-shaping potential.

Flight

The 5 speed keeps it controllable, while 5 glide provides easy carry. The -2 turn lets it flip from hyzer or drift on long turnovers, and the gentle 1 fade gives it just enough finish without aggressively bailing out.

Neutron Plastic

Neutron is MVP's premium opaque blend, offering excellent durability, dependable grip, and a comfortable feel for both power and touch shots. That durability is especially useful on a line-shaping midrange like the Detour, helping preserve its workable flight through regular use.

Best Uses

  • Hyzer-flip midrange drives
  • Long panning turnovers
  • Straight woods shots
  • Technical tunnel lines
  • Standstill approaches
  • Lower-power straight shots
  • Touchy anhyzer approaches
  • Developing players looking for an easy-flying midrange
  • Experienced players who need controlled understability
  • Taking the scenic route because apparently the direct route had trees

BDLD Real Talk

The Detour fills one of those sneaky-useful slots you don't realize you're missing until you throw one.

Need a mid to flip up? Detour.

Need something to drift right without immediately burning into the ground? Detour.

Need to throw around the giant tree directly between you and the basket because your previous shot demonstrated a deeply personal commitment to poor placement? Definitely Detour.

This isn't an understable mid that becomes useless the moment you develop some arm speed. Throw it with touch and it can carve ridiculously useful lines. Newer players may find it surprisingly straight, while bigger arms get the fun stuff: flips, turnovers, late movement, and all kinds of woods-golf nonsense.

Basically, the Detour is proof that going the wrong direction can occasionally be the correct decision.

We wish that philosophy applied to our tee shots more often.

Bottom Line

The MVP Detour in Neutron plastic is a workable 5 | 5 | -2 | 1 midrange built for hyzer-flips, turnovers, straight shots, technical lines, and effortless controlled distance.

When the straight path is blocked, take the Detour. Just try not to make it a three-fairway detour.
