What's Up, Weirdos?

Welcome to the very first edition of the Big Dudes Bulletin.

If you're reading this, congratulations. You've somehow found yourself hanging out with a bunch of disc golf addicts who spend way too much money on plastic and still somehow manage to hit the first available tree.

We're kicking off Volume One by talking about our home away from home, some of our favorite discs, and what you can expect from this little corner of the internet moving forward.

Wednesday Walk at Cottonwood Creek

(if you haven't been click course name for the directions)

If you've been looking for an excuse to throw some plastic, meet some new people, or simply witness some truly questionable shot decisions, come hang out with us every Wednesday at Cottonwood Creek Disc Golf Course right here in Colorado Springs.

We start the Wednesday Walk at 5:30 PM and everyone is welcome.

New player? Come out.

Been playing for years? Come out.

Throw 450 feet? Cool.

Throw 150 feet directly into the nearest bush? Also cool.

The goal is simple. Get outside, throw some discs, laugh at each other, and have a good time.

And if that's not enough disc golf for one evening, Glow Night starts immediately after. Once the sun goes down, the lights come on and the fun gets even better.

Some of the best throws, worst throws, luckiest kicks, and biggest laughs happen after dark.

Big Dude Mike's Current Favorites

Every disc golfer has those discs they trust a little more than they probably should.

Here are a few that Big Dude Mike keeps reaching for.

Discmania Neo Founder

The Neo Founder has quickly become one of those discs that earns a permanent spot in the bag. It's dependable, comfortable in the hand, and has that smooth flight that makes you think you're a much better player than you actually are.

If you're looking for something that can handle a variety of shots without feeling overly touchy, this one is worth checking out.

National Perk Service Death Wind Canary

Let's be honest.

Half the reason we love this disc is because the name sounds like it belongs in a heavy metal album collection.

The artwork is awesome, the plastic feels great, and it stands out every time somebody pulls it out of the bag. Some discs are conversation starters before they're ever thrown, and this is definitely one of them.

Trash Panda Canyon

Now we're talking about one of Mike's personal addictions.

No joke, Big Dude Mike has a stash of at least fifteen Trash Panda Canyons.

At some point we stopped asking why.

The Canyon is one of those discs that just feels right. Whether you're using it for controlled approaches, smooth fairway shots, or those rounds where you're trying to convince yourself you're playing smart golf, it just works.

If you see Mike on the course, there's a pretty good chance at least one Canyon is in his hand. There's also a pretty good chance he has five more in his car.

What To Expect From The Bulletin

This is Volume One, and we're just getting started.

Every couple of weeks we'll be dropping another issue with course highlights, disc reviews, tournament stories, community spotlights, random thoughts, bad decisions, good decisions, and whatever else happens to be floating around our heads.

We'll share our thoughts.

We'll share our terrible throws.

We'll share our great throws.

We'll definitely share some stories that probably should have stayed on the course.

Most importantly, we'll keep doing what we love: growing the disc golf community one round at a time.
